Something new and exciting...

...a new blog! It is here! I am moving up to a new and improved blog. Not that I don't feel some loyalty to this one...well actually I don't really. She has treated me well, but I LOVE the new one SO MUCH!! I am sad that I will not be transferring over all my old posts, but my favorites will soon be taking their place in the portfolio on the web, so you will see still get to see them there!

My Snow Caterpillar

Well I have decided to do my top ten reasons why the winter rocks (for those of you that know me, you know that I abhor winter and all that it entails) However I would like to try to be a glass half full kinda gal. So far I have two things for my top ten list, so I have to give it a bit more thought...

One of the things on my list would have to be eating snow. Can't do that in the summer. And it is yummy. We took Grace outside for the first time to play in the snow on Monday. We decided she looks like a giant pink caterpillar in her snowsuit. She seemed to like her jaunt in the early snow.

Sweet baby boy...

I am so glad I got to play with this sweet baby boy! At 6 weeks he is quite a little man, wanting to stay awake and play while I was over. We finally tuckered him out, but not after getting some amazing shots of those bright gray eyes! He also knows just what he likes, and doesn't like (he is a very modest boy, no birthday suit for him!) Thank you for the fun!

Two cute kids

What could be my last outdoor session of the season happened to be with two very cute kids. I have photographed this family in the past, and was thrilled to meet there littlest darling, such a sweet little girl! We had some fun outside then took it inside to get out of the chilly air. Thanks for taking a risk on such a breezy night, guys! 

 

We prayed for nice weather...

...and our prayers were answered! After having to reschedule because of crazy strong wind, I was able to spend an early evening with this amazing family. They were celebrating their mother, Marion, who has just turned 70 years young. I felt right at home with this group. Such easy smilers, happy laughers and funny teasers; how lucky am I? I hope that I am still looking this much in love when I am almost 42  years married!

Much to his wife's dismay, we were shocked to see that Mark had broken the cardinal rule of getting your photos taken...WHITE SOCKS!

Sweet and silly

I have known this Momma since...well as long as I can remember. We grew up together and lost touch but became friends again as adults quite a few years ago. I am so glad we reconnected (just happened to be at a mutual friend's wedding) so that I get the opportunity to watch her family grow and grow up! Now about our session. Wow, was it fun! The weather was pretty much perfect, maybe a little chilly, but nothing like this last few days. The wind didn't pick up until we were almost finished. The trees and trails were gorgeous. And the kids (especially the biggest kid...aka Dad) were great! There was hiking, chasing after kids and lots of laughing. Here are only a few of my absolute favorites. I had such a hard time picking them out, let me tell you.

Seriously HILARIOUS!

Yep, Dad cleared the youngest. By a lot. And the middle child too, for that matter. It was a sight to behold. LOL!

Maybe the nicest day of September...

...and I was fortunate enough to spend it with one of my favorite families. We found some fun nooks and crannies to explore, and stayed cool in the shade. Mr. Malcolm is just growing so fast, I cannot believe it was just a few months ago that we were doing his newborn session! Your kids, as always, are such fun to photograph. Thanks so much, guys!

I love fall...

Although I don't love that it beckons winter. But I do LOVE the colours of the fall leaves, the hazy sunsets and enjoying the last days of warmth before the cold comes again. It is always a busy time of year; trying to get sessions photographed at just the right time...leaves turning, not fallen...weather still warm enough to keep our noses from running. It is always a race to beat winter. Thankfully, this year I have been a step ahead of the weather (well except for rescheduling a session today because of the crazy strong wind...hang on to your branches little leaves!)

Expect a lot of entries in the next week or so, as I catch up to the work. Here was a great session I had at the beginning of last week (I cannot believe the beautiful weather we had!!!) It took a while for me to choose my favorites, but that is because these kids are so gorgeous and energetic, and the session was SO much fun! The last time I photographed these friends was two falls ago. You can see how much they have grown since this blog entry way back then. Thanks for bringing me to such a great spot to hang out with your family, Lisa!

A cousin session

I love working with friends, and that is what I got to do yesterday. My friends have wanted to get their kids, 3 sweet cousins, together to take photos for a long time, but schedules, a new baby and old man winter all have gotten in the way...until yesterday. We had a lovely time scouting out a new field (which just happened to be in the middle of town!) and trying to get the littlest man to smile!

I cannot believe how big all the kids are getting! I am glad we finally got the chance to get out and grab some fun moments with the kids. Thanks a bunch guys. Enjoy...

Mike & Angela

We have a sweet new arrival in our family. On the 15th we were blessed with a new cousin, Angela. That is, my cousin, Mike, married his sweetheart, Angela. We are so happy to welcome her into our family! (Even though she has been a part of our family for 6 years now!)

My Dad and I photographed their  beautiful wedding, that took place at Eagle Rock Golf Course. We had gorgeous weather (at least in the sun!) The wedding party was so fun, actually the whole day was so fun, except maybe the incoming golf balls...that was more scary than fun.
